Relics of 1604

This interactive site was inspired by the concept of a rock garden. Relics of 1604 is a curated collection of objects ­— specifically, trash accumulated over the course of a week while living with 3 other roommates in a dorm room. As the viewer relates (or doesn't) to the objects pictured on the website, the intention is to evoke questions about what can be observed by what we choose to throw away. What kind of lifestyles do we lead? What does it indicate about our priorities? Representing a week's worth of trash as if they are relics in a museum —presented in gilded frames along with text descriptions — allows for reflection on these prompts.
